Premier Floorball was a partner with Floorball Nova Scotia for the second consecutive year to run floorball workshops for all students in the Sidney Crosby Hockey School. We had a a full compliment of volunteers to facilitate and ensure that each child had the best floorball experience possible. The majority of kids were introduced to floorball for the first time but we definitely noticed a greater number who had played floorball at some point in the past year though local school programs or as part of off-ice training initiatives in their minor hockey association.
A great time was had by all and several have even said that the floorball session was the highlight of the camp for them. Nine year old Luke Vink of Alberta said in an interview that:
“the floorball was my favourite because it was a new sport I tried, and it was really fun.”
We love hearing that! Mission accomplished! Our efforts to educate hockey players on the benefits of floorball in their development is working – and our participation in a camp such as Crosby’s is very beneficial and we appreciate the partnership! Thanks Sidney!
